The kitesurfing community in Switzerland represents more than 15,000 riders, with around 5,000 riders
for French-speaking Switzerland. This community has been active for years through a Facebook group
created in September 2012 under the name kitesurf
& snowkite in French-speaking Switzerland and which was renamed let's kite in 2019.
The goal with this community is to provide tools to make this sport better known, which will become
an Olympic discipline at the next Paris Olympics by giving the wind conditions for each spot, the
information on the spots as well as advice to make the most of each session.
The world of kitesurfing is still not very visible. The strength of Let's kite - and its mission - is to give more visibility to the richness of an ecosystem that is much denser than it seems at first glance. Whether it is stores, resellers, kite craftsmen or schools, there are many professionals to accompany you in your sport. Our directory aims to reference them and our agenda section ¨ to highlight all the events organized by the various clubs & partners.
Kitesurfing is still largely confidential, often discovered during holidays in more temperate
latitudes. However, Switzerland offers conditions both in summer and winter that allow the sport
to be practiced all year round.
By making the spots more visible and giving relevant indications on the wind, let's kite, allows
riders to go out more often and the sport to be better known. Our links with the Kitesurfeurs
Association are close, because we have the same objective: to defend a responsible practice of the
sport and therefore as widespread as possible.
Our mountainous regions have the particularity of offering changing conditions. The use of the
weather alone does not allow you to know if there is wind or not on your favorite spot.
Thanks to our algorithm, we query all the weather stations and connected anemometers and thanks to
the support of the community, we are working to equip more and more spots with their anemometer in
order to obtain real-time wind conditions.
Notification system: for more service
The next step in our development is the launch of a notification system which will allow you to
subscribe to your favorite spot (s) in order to receive alerts as soon as the spot is "rideable".
