This spot is at the mouth of the Gauja River into the Gulf of Riga, near the town of Carnikava in Latvia. The location offers an interesting mix of river and coastal waters.

The water body faces north, towards the Gulf of Riga. North to north-west winds are most favourable. The river mouth offers sheltered and shallow waters with a sandy bottom.

Carnikava is about 25 km north of Riga. Access is easy. The season runs from May to October. The spot suits beginners and intermediates.
