Švencelė is a village on the eastern shore of the Curonian Lagoon in Lithuania, facing the Curonian Spit. It is one of the most popular kitesurfing spots on the lagoon.
The lagoon offers exceptional flat water conditions with shallow water. Westerly winds are most favourable, blowing side-shore to side-onshore across the lagoon. The bottom is sandy and muddy.
Švencelė is accessible from Klaipėda (about 30 km south). The spot is very popular with kitesurfing schools for teaching. The season runs from May to October. The spot is perfect for beginners.
