Kolkasrags is the northernmost point of the Courland Peninsula, where the Gulf of Riga meets the open Baltic Sea. It is an iconic Latvian location and a unique kitesurfing spot.
The cape offers varied conditions depending on wind direction. East of the cape, Gulf of Riga waters are calmer. To the west, the open Baltic Sea is rougher. Currents can be strong at the tip of the cape.
The spot is located in Slītere National Park. It is reserved for experienced riders due to currents and remoteness from rescue services. The season runs from May to October.
