La Pointe aux Oies (Ambleteuse) is one of the best kitesurf spots on the Côte d'Opale according to local schools — even ranked above Wimereux by Wimkite School, which considers it one of the two top spots in the area along with Wissant. Located north of Boulogne-sur-Mer, this large wild beach is sheltered from the east by the coast orientation and benefits from the dominant S to SW winds generating quality waves.
Works from SSW to N via west. The beach is expansive with dunes behind, providing space for rigging. Wimkite School uses this as an alternative to Wissant when conditions require. Spectacular setting with the historic Fort d'Ambleteuse rising from the sea at mid tide.
Wimkite School — operates at La Pointe aux Oies/Ambleteuse as an alternative spot depending on wind conditions. Based at Wissant and Wimereux. wimkite.com

Rocky outcrops at the tip and at the edges of the beach — stay clear of them. Historic Fort d'Ambleteuse visible from the beach (UNESCO area). Offshore winds (NE to E) dangerous on this exposed coastline. Check tidal height — beach space varies considerably. Keep distance from rocky areas at both ends.
S and SW: dominant winds on the Côte d'Opale — quality waves, side-onshore. W to NW: also excellent, with classic wave riding conditions. N: possible, side-onshore port tack. NE to SE: offshore — do not practice. Wind can be enhanced by the cape venturi effect (Gris-Nez/Blanc-Nez corridor).
