Primel-Trégastel

Primel-Trégastel

Overview

Third and last spot in the Plougasnou area, Primel-Trégastel beach is located NW and a little less than 3 kilometers from the village.
It's the most touristy spot in the area, it's also the safest for kitesurfing but also has some restrictions.
A 600-meter long sandy beach, with dry sand and a protective seawall overlooking the shore. Shower at the lifeguard station.

Spot opening date

Open all year round

Regulated navigation in summer, with the presence of lifeguards and depending on beach attendance. However, it is possible to navigate during this season before 12pm or after 6pm.
There is a channel on the left side of the beach, which can be used as an exit and entry zone. To be negotiated with the lifeguards

Spot currently open :-)

Parking

Small parking area east of the beach (5 to 6 spaces) or the larger Manche parking lot behind the lifeguard tower (100 meters).

Hazards

Cove surrounded by rocks that break the waves. At low tide, avoid getting too close to the sides of the cove, especially to the north, toward Primel point.

Wind specificities

Ideal wind from N or NNW (side). Less frequent, the N to E quadrant is also interesting, allowing navigation parallel to the beach. In summer, the wind is naturally stronger when exiting the Primel cove.
