Kitesurf spot at Camping Florent, on the north shore of Lake Champlain in Quebec, in the Venise-en-Québec area. Lake Champlain is a large transborder lake between Quebec, Vermont and New York State. The campground offers direct lake access with a beach. The fetch is excellent southward (the lake extends 200 km into US territory). Pleasant freshwater in summer. Popular spot for Montreal kitesurfers.

Lake Champlain, freshwater. Excellent fetch southward (200+ km). Warm water in summer (20-24°C). Sandy to rocky bottom. Chop to waves in sustained south wind. The lake is narrow at this point (north end) but widens southward. Shared navigation with recreational boats.
Violent summer thunderstorms — the lake is very exposed. Waves possible in south wind with long fetch. Active recreational boating. The north end of the lake is narrow — limited space. Rocks possible along shore. US border nearby.
