The Kessel Run is a kitesurfing spot in Maunalua Bay (Hawaii Kai) on the southeast coast of Oahu, Hawaii. This spot offers flat water to light chop conditions inside the reef, with northeast trade winds crossing over the Ko'olau Mountains. The shallow bay with its barrier reef creates an ideal lagoon for kitesurfing. Warm tropical water in the residential setting of Hawaii Kai.

Shallow coral reef — injury risk in case of fall. Sea urchins. Protected turtles — legal obligation to maintain distance. Currents in reef channels. Tourist boat and jet ski traffic in the bay. Gusty wind crossing over Ko'olau Mountains. Occasional sharks.
