Branched Oak is a kitesurf spot on Branched Oak Lake, a popular reservoir near Lincoln, Nebraska's capital. This 7 km² lake offers good fetch and consistent prairie winds. Several beaches and boat ramps available. Most accessible spot in the Lincoln area. Salt Valley Recreation Area offers camping and amenities. Season from May to October.
Freshwater with variable visibility. Water temperature from 0°C in winter (frozen) to 26°C in summer. Muddy to sandy bottom. Moderate chop in strong winds. Variable lake level depending on precipitation. Full 4/3 wetsuit in spring/fall, shorty in summer.
