Färjestaden is a kitesurfing spot located on the west coast of the island of Öland, in Kalmar County, right next to the Öland Bridge connecting the island to the mainland. Färjestaden is the largest town on Öland and the former ferry departure point (hence its name). The spot is in the Kalmar Strait (Kalmarsund) and offers a sheltered body of water. South-west and west winds cross the strait well. The proximity of the Öland Bridge makes it a very accessible spot upon arrival on the island.
