Overview

Fertorakos is a kitesurfing spot on the Hungarian shore of Lake Ferto (Neusiedlersee), a lake shared with Austria. This lake is one of Europe's largest steppe lakes, very shallow (average depth under 2 meters). Prevailing winds come from the northwest. The lake is surrounded by reeds, but open areas allow riding. Watch out for national park protected zones. Suitable for intermediate riders.
