Ouddorp is one of the best kitesurf spots in the Netherlands, located at the western tip of the island of Goeree-Overflakkee (between Zeeland and South Holland). Long sandy beach with medium North Sea waves in westerly winds. Strong currents and underwater breakwaters between beach access points 7 and 9 (the designated kite zone).
Best with W/NW/N/NE winds. Suitable for all levels but recommended for intermediate and advanced riders due to waves, currents, and breakwaters in the kite area. Large beach with ample space to rig. Good parking and facilities. Beautiful landscape at the Goeree peninsula tip. Less crowded than Brouwersdam.
Kite zone between beach access points 7 and 9 — marked on site. Free parking just behind the dyke. Facilities: beach pavilions, toilets, showers. Village of Ouddorp nearby with restaurants and shops. Access via N215 from Rotterdam direction, then towards Ouddorp. GPS: Ouddorp beach, Goeree-Overflakkee.
North Sea — medium waves depending on wind and swell. Choppy in SW/W/NW. Submerged breakwaters between access points 7-9 (know their positions). Large tidal range. Strong lateral currents in strong wind. Cold year-round: 3/2mm minimum summer, 5/4mm winter.
