Paulina Polder is a kitesurf spot on the Westerschelde (Western Scheldt) estuary, near Biervliet/Terneuzen in Zeeland. Flat to choppy water, ideal for freestyle and freeride. One of the more sheltered Westerschelde spots. Works best with N, E or W wind — 2 hours either side of high tide.
⚠️ Stay strictly out of the shipping channel (major route to Antwerp). Pole rows in the water. Tide-dependent. Best season April–June. Intermediate level. Used by local kiters as a quiet alternative to busier spots. Beautiful polder landscape.
Access at high tide only (±2h window). Check tidal tables before each session. GPS: Paulinapolder, Biervliet, Zeeland. From Terneuzen direction, take small road north toward the dyke. 9 official Westerschelde kite zones (NKV/province designated) — check signs on site.
Westerschelde — flat to choppy, no swell. Tidal dependent. Shells/oysters on seabed. Intermediate minimum. Stay out of the shipping channel at all times.

Pole rows in the water — know their positions before launching. Strong tidal currents. Shipping channel offshore — stay in zone. N/NW/E only — other directions offshore or turbulent. Tide-dependent: 2h either side of high tide. Booties recommended (shells/oysters on seabed).
N/E/W onshore or side-onshore. S/SW offshore. Wind can be gusty due to polder dykes. Kiteable window: ~2h either side of high tide. Best April–June. Freestyle ideal conditions in flat water.
