Surgut Reservoir

Overview

Surgut Reservoir is an artificial water body near the city of Surgut, in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (Yugra), Western Siberia. It is a freshwater kitesurfing spot.

The reservoir offers an open water body with a flat bottom. Shores are partly sandy, allowing kite launching. Water is shallow in some areas, which can suit beginners.

Season is short due to Siberian continental climate, June to early September. Water warms up in summer (16-22°C). Winds are variable, often from south and west. Spot suited for intermediate riders.
