Overview

Le Moutchic is a kitesurf spot on Lac de Lacanau (Gironde), on the eastern shore near the village of Moutchic. This freshwater lake is one of the largest in France and a well-established wind sports destination. The lake catches the dominant Atlantic winds funneling through the Landes forest corridor.

Flat freshwater lake with no tidal constraints. Good wind consistency throughout the year. The lake is shared with swimmers, sailboats, and other water sports in summer — respect designated zones. A convenient spot for riders staying in the Moutchic/Lacanau area.
