Haarum is a spot on the south shore of Nissum Bredning, the westernmost part of the Limfjord. Contrary to what its geographic position might suggest, this is NOT a North Sea spot but a sheltered fjord spot. The small Haarum Havn harbour provides access to the Limfjord. Shallow waters (max 6 m) with a riding area 24 km east-west and 10 km north-south. SpiritSurf kite school uses this spot for kitesurfing lessons.

Shallow Limfjord waters (Nissum Bredning), max 6 m deep. Sandy and muddy bottom. Flat to choppy conditions depending on wind strength and available fetch. Sheltered riding area compared to the North Sea coast. The opposite shore is only 10 km away, making the spot much safer than an ocean spot.
Tidal currents in Nissum Bredning, particularly near the Thyborøn Channel to the west. Muddy bottom in some areas. In southerly wind, risk of being pushed toward the north shore (10 km). Commercial navigation in the Limfjord. Shallows and shifting sandbanks.
