Palmestranden is a spot on the northeast coast of Jutland, near Frederikshavn, facing the Kattegat. Sandy beach 500 m long and 25 m wide, very popular with families. The spot faces east/northeast toward the Kattegat, with the Hirsholmene islands offshore. Sheltered conditions compared to the North Sea coast. Frederikshavn's industrial and ferry port is located just to the south.
Kattegat waters, shallow near shore with sandy bottom. Moderate chop in east/northeast winds with good fetch across the Kattegat toward Sweden. Calmer conditions than the North Sea coast. Wetsuit recommended year-round.

Maritime traffic from Frederikshavn's industrial and ferry port to the south — watch for ferries and commercial vessels. Blue Flag beach very popular with families in summer — many swimmers. Limited space (500 m x 25 m beach). Port structures and moles nearby. Shallow areas near shore.
