Spot de Boyarsk Spit (Lake Baikal)

Boyarsk Spit (Lake Baikal)

Boyarsk Spit (Lake Baikal)

Overview

Kosa Boyarsk is a kitesurfing spot on the southeast shore of Lake Baikal, in Buryatia, a few kilometers south of Posolsk Spit. The Boyarsk sand spit offers similar conditions to its neighbor Posolsk.

Lake Baikal's water body is immense and open. The freshwater is very cold (8-16°C in summer) but exceptionally clear. The sandy beach provides good space for rigging and launching kites.

Main winds are the Barguzin (east/northeast wind) and the Kultuk (southwest wind), typical thermal winds of Lake Baikal. The sailing season runs from June to September. Full wetsuit essential.
