Haapsalu is a charming seaside town on Estonia's west coast, known for its thermal waters and episcopal castle. Haapsalu Bay offers exceptional kitesurfing conditions thanks to its very shallow and warm summer waters.
The bottom is sandy and muddy, and the water remains waist-deep over very large distances, making it an extremely safe spot for beginners. The bay faces north-west, well exposed to west and north-west winds.
Haapsalu is considered one of the best learning spots in the Baltics. The shallow bay water warms up quickly in summer, reaching 22-25°C. The season runs from May to October.
