Overview

Kinsman Beach is near Sioux Narrows in the Lake of the Woods region of northwestern Ontario. Lake of the Woods is immense (4,350 km²) with 14,500 islands. Kinsman Beach offers access to this wild, spectacular lake.

Very remote spot — 20+ hours drive from Toronto. Access from Sioux Narrows. The lake offers varied conditions depending on bays and islands. For experienced, self-sufficient riders. Short season: June to September.

Lake of the Woods — immense Canadian Shield lake. Crystal-clear freshwater. Rocky bottom (granite). Very variable depth. Wind can be irregular between islands. Cool water (15-20°C in summer). Variable chop depending on exposure.

Hazards

Immense lake with 14,500 islands — disorientation possible. Dangerous rocky bottom. Cold water. Extreme remoteness — no quick rescue services. Ride only with buddy and full safety gear. Bears and wildlife on shores.
