Razende Bol ("Raging Ball" / Noorderhaaks) is a legendary wild sandbar in the Waddenzee, located between Den Helder and Texel. This uninhabited, constantly shifting island is an epic freeride destination — vast flat sand, strong tidal currents, and completely isolated. Typically reached by riding from Huisduinen across the Marsdiep channel.
⚠️ Expert only — strong tidal currents in the Marsdiep channel, no rescue services on the sandbar, Waddenzee navigation rules apply. Best in light to moderate winds (too much wind = dangerous crossing). The reward is a pristine, crowd-free riding environment like no other in the Netherlands. A true adventure ride.
Shallow flat sand at low tide — spectacular conditions for freeride and foil on the sandbar itself. Crossing the Marsdiep is choppy with strong currents. Not for wave riding — the adventure is the flat, wild sandbar.

Strong tidal currents — this is one of the most current-exposed spots in the Netherlands. The Razende Bol is an uninhabited, shifting sandbar. Only for expert riders in good conditions. Check Waddenzee navigation rules. No rescue services on the Razende Bol itself.
