Glacial lakes Bennett and Nares at 656 m altitude. Crystal clear, extremely cold water (6-12°C even in summer). Rocky and sandy bottom. Variable chop — mountain valleys can create very strong, turbulent winds. Variable fetch depending on the lake (Lake Bennett is 30 km long). Stunning landscape of snow-capped mountains and desert.
Glacial water — drysuit MANDATORY, hypothermia within minutes without protection. Powerful and unpredictable valley winds with violent gusts. Extremely remote from emergency services. Grizzly and black bears in the area. Weather conditions changing rapidly. Riding only for very experienced and properly equipped riders. Never ride alone. Ultra-short season.
