Lawtonka is a kitesurf spot on Lake Lawtonka, a reservoir in the Wichita Mountains of southwestern Oklahoma, near Lawton and Fort Sill Military Reservation. This lake offers powerful south winds with good fetch. Spectacular setting with the granite hills of the Wichita Mountains as a backdrop. Part of the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge — bison, elk, and longhorn cattle in the area. Season from April to November.

Freshwater with variable visibility. Water temperature from 5°C in winter to 28°C in summer. Good fetch. Rocky (granite) to muddy bottom. Moderate to strong chop in south winds. Shorty in summer, 4/3 wetsuit in spring/fall.
TORNADOES: monitor weather constantly. Violent thunderstorms with lightning and hail April to June. Bison, elk, and longhorn cattle from Wildlife Refuge — do not approach. Rattlesnakes and water moccasins. Rocky granite bottom. Fort Sill military exercises nearby — respect restricted areas.
