90 Miles Beach (Ninety Mile Beach) at Weiharara is a legendary kitesurfing spot located on the west coast of the Far North, in Northland. This immense sandy beach stretches for nearly 90 km along the Tasman Sea, offering a limitless playground for kitesurfing and landkite. Prevailing winds come from the west to northwest (onshore from the Tasman Sea) and are regular. Southwest winds work as side-shore. The beach is vast and flat, also allowing landkite at low tide. The Tasman Sea swell can be powerful. Beware of the isolation of this spot: few services nearby. Spot for self-sufficient intermediate to advanced riders.
