Hermanus is an ocean spot on the Walker Bay coast, east of the town center. The rocky coast with beach sections offers wave conditions for advanced riders. Hermanus is world-famous for southern right whale watching (June-November). The spot is more exposed than the lagoon and suits experienced riders.
Works in SE and ESE from October to March. Rocky coast creates interesting waves. Tide affects access to beach sections. Best at mid-tide.
Waves 1 to 2m on rocky and sandy bottom. Water at 14-18°C, 3/2 to 4/3 wetsuit. Current. Kelp possible.

Parking in Hermanus streets or at the New Harbour. Safe tourist area.
Rocks: very rocky coast, careful when landing. Sharks (great whites) in Walker Bay. Whales in season — keep distance, it's required by law. Kelp. Current.
SE (Cape Doctor) onshore to side-onshore, 15-25 knots from October to March. Walker Bay sometimes amplifies the wind. ESE also works. Thermal early afternoon.
