Coronado Shores is a kitesurfing spot located on Silver Strand Beach in Coronado, near San Diego, California. This long, fine sandy beach facing west benefits from regular west to northwest thermal winds and a mild year-round climate. The beach is spacious with plenty of room for rigging, and the water body offers varied conditions from flat water to small waves. It is one of San Diego's best spots for intermediate riders.
Ocean beach spot with waves of 0.3 to 1.5m, generally moderate. Water is among the warmest on the California coast (15-22°C/59-72°F), shorty or 3/2 works most of the year. Sandy and gradually deepening bottom. Shore break is generally moderate. Conditions are often forgiving thanks to the sheltered orientation of nearby San Diego Bay.

Proximity to North Island Naval Air Station — certain areas are strictly off-limits. Air traffic (military aircraft from the naval base) — stay alert. Possible drift currents.
