Souiria Kedima (Souira Qdima) is a hidden gem on the Atlantic coast between Safi and Essaouira, about 30 km south of Safi. The wide sandy beach offers stable, steady wind especially in summer, thanks to both trade winds and powerful thermal from the hot inland.
An excellent alternative to crowded Essaouira with far fewer riders on the water and interesting conditions that vary with the tide. The historic town features the 15th century Portuguese fortress 'Castelo Real' and the 17th century Ben Hamidouch Kasbah.
Less known internationally but appreciated by Moroccan kiters from the Casablanca-Safi-Essaouira corridor.
