Leeupan Dam is a small dam situated at about 1567m altitude on the Mpumalanga Highveld, in the Delmas/Springs area. This modest-sized body of water offers a local option for kiters around the East Rand and western Mpumalanga. Rural and quiet atmosphere in the Highveld plains.
Small freshwater dam that works with summer thermal winds. Sessions possible in the afternoon. Limited-size body of water — suited for short sessions and progression.

Summer thermal winds from the north-west to north-east sector, developing in the afternoon. Typical strength of 15-22 knots. The flat Highveld terrain provides unobstructed wind exposure. Thermals sometimes gusty.
Thunderstorms with lightning in summer — leave the water immediately when a storm approaches. No rescue service — don't sail alone. Thermal winds sometimes gusty.
