Oak Lake Beach is a spot on Oak Lake in southwestern Manitoba, in the prairies at about 430 m altitude. This prairie lake is a typical shallow water body of the region, surrounded by farmland. The flat prairie terrain ensures optimal wind exposure from all directions. Southwestern Manitoba is one of the windiest regions of the province, benefiting from prevailing northwest winds.

Violent and rapid prairie thunderstorms in summer — no shelter on the lake. Muddy bottom that can trap feet. Algae possible in late summer. Very rural area remote from emergency services. Abundant mosquitoes.
