Meinert Beach is a kitesurf spot located on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, in Muskegon County, Michigan. This county park offers a nice sandy beach with direct west exposure on Lake Michigan. The area is less crowded than beaches at major resort towns, offering more space for kitesurfing. West and northwest winds generate regular waves for surfing. Wooded dunes in the background.

Cold water — full wetsuit required except in midsummer (July-August). Sandy bottom with gradual slope. Longshore currents possible along the coast in strong winds.
Longshore and rip currents possible in strong west winds. Cold Lake Michigan water with hypothermia risk, especially in spring and fall. Wooded dunes can create turbulence near shore. Violent thunderstorms possible in summer with lightning risk — exit water immediately. Relatively remote area — bring safety equipment. Commercial shipping offshore.
