Kitesurf spot at Chandler, on the south coast of Gaspésie. This former paper mill town faces the Gulf of St. Lawrence / Baie des Chaleurs. Chandler beach offers direct sea access with southern exposure. The spot benefits from the relatively warm waters of the Baie des Chaleurs. The coastal landscape alternates between sand beaches and sandstone cliffs. Chandler is a good base between Percé and Paspébiac.

Baie des Chaleurs / Gulf of St. Lawrence. Relatively warm salt water (14-18°C in summer). Southern exposure with good fetch across the bay. Moderate tides (1-2m). Chop to waves in sustained south wind. Sandy bottom. Gulf swell can enter the bay in east wind.
Cold water despite the bay's name — wetsuit recommended. Unstable sandstone cliffs in some areas. Coastal currents. Thunderstorms possible. Relatively isolated area. Rocks possible along the coast.
