Kitesurf spot at Boom Defence, in the Baie de Gaspé, at the eastern tip of the Gaspé Peninsula. The name "Boom Defence" comes from historic military installations that protected the bay entrance during World War II. The spot is in the inner part of the bay, offering semi-protected water. The Baie de Gaspé opens to the southeast, catching offshore winds. Remarkable historical and natural setting near Forillon National Park.
Baie de Gaspé, inner part. Cold salt water (10-15°C in summer). Moderate tides (1-2m). Semi-protected water with chop in SE wind. Sandy to rocky bottom. The bay opens to the southeast, offering fetch in SE and east wind. Moderate tidal currents.
