Tickey Creek is a kitesurf spot on Lake Lavon, a reservoir northeast of Dallas in Collin County. The spot is in the Tickey Creek park offering lake access. Lake Lavon is a medium-sized lake, less crowded than Lake Lewisville or Ray Hubbard, offering more tranquility. The S/SE wind blows well on this lake open to the Texas prairies.

Fresh water of Lake Lavon. Muddy bottom. Flat to choppy water. No tide. Warm water in summer. Open lake with good fetch. Less boat traffic than the larger DFW lakes.
Violent thunderstorms and tornadoes possible — north Texas is in Tornado Alley. Submerged obstacles (trees, stumps) at low levels. Boat traffic on weekends. Very variable lake level.
