Fish Stink Island is a kitesurf spot located in the Charlevoix area, Michigan, on Lake Charlevoix. This large inland lake is connected to Lake Michigan by a channel at Charlevoix. Lake Charlevoix, covering approximately 70 km², offers a vast water body with more sheltered conditions than open Lake Michigan. Heavy boat traffic in summer with motorboats, sailboats, and jet skis — Lake Charlevoix is very busy. Cold water with hypothermia risk. Shoals and submerged rocks in some areas, especially near islands. Violent thunderstorms possible in summer with lightning risk — exit water immediately. Lake can become rough quickly in strong winds.
