Pointe-aux-Loups is a long sand tombolo connecting Havre-aux-Maisons to Grosse-Île in the Magdalen Islands. The "Flat Spot" is a shallow water body on the tombolo's east side — one of the Madelinots' best flat water spots.
Extremely shallow water, standing depth for hundreds of meters. Fine sand bottom. The narrow tombolo lets you choose sides depending on wind — east or west. Ideal conditions for beginners and freestyle. Constant strong wind on this exposed sand strip.
Extremely shallow water on the tombolo's east side. Turquoise water, fine sand bottom. Almost no chop — perfect flat water. The west side may have chop in west winds. Low tide affects depth. Water 17-21°C in summer.

Open all year round
The tombolo is narrow — do not drift to the other side (different conditions). At low tide, very little water — risk of hitting bottom. Very strong wind possible on this exposed sand strip. Protection of surrounding dunes.
