Venice Beach is a Gulf of Mexico coast beach, south of Sarasota. Known as the "Shark Tooth Capital of the World" due to its abundance of fossilized shark teeth, this west-facing beach offers kitesurfing conditions with west and northwest winds. The spot is less crowded than beaches further north like Siesta Key.

Possible currents near Venice Inlet. Bottom with shells and fossilized shark teeth (wear booties). Frequent stingrays. Jellyfish in season. Occasional sharks attracted by fish schools.
