Northwinds Beach is near Collingwood on Georgian Bay's south shore. The beach faces north with significant fetch across the bay. The Collingwood-Blue Mountains area is a major recreational destination in Ontario (skiing in winter, beach in summer).
Accessible beach with parking. Sand launch. North and northwest winds are most favorable. Close to Wasaga Beach but offers a different setting, closer to Collingwood.

Georgian Bay facing north. Freshwater, moderate to sustained chop in north winds. Sandy bottom, gradual depth. Cooler water than Lake Erie (16-20°C in summer). 100+ km fetch to the north.
Significant chop in sustained north winds (long fetch). Cold water — wetsuit needed except midsummer. Possible shore currents. Check forecasts before riding.
