This spot offers river access in an impressive setting with the Beaupré coast cliffs. The tidal water faces south toward Île d'Orléans. The area benefits from wind channeled by the river. Close to Quebec City (15 min).
St. Lawrence River, north channel between shore and Île d'Orléans. 3-4m tides. Fresh to brackish water, cold (12-16°C in summer). Significant current in the channel. Rocky and sandy bottom. The channel is relatively narrow, concentrating the current. Chop in NE wind along the river.
