Juanita Beach is a kitesurfing spot on the northeast shore of Lake Washington, in the city of Kirkland, Washington. This popular beach park offers lake access in a pleasant residential setting. Lake Washington is the state's second largest natural lake and offers a flat waterway ideal for kitesurfing. Southerly thermal winds blow regularly in summer. The park has a large grassy area for launching and a sandy beach.
Fresh water from Lake Washington, temperate in summer (16-22°C). Shorty or 3/2 wetsuit in summer, 4/3 in spring and fall. Flat water without waves, perfect for freestyle. Sandy and muddy bottom, shallow near shore. Southerly thermal winds at 10-18 knots in summer. The lake offers a spacious but shared waterway.

Heavy boat traffic on Lake Washington: recreational boats, sailboats, kayaks, paddleboards, and seaplanes. Park swimming zones very busy in summer: maximum attention to swimmers. Seaplane landing paths to avoid. Winds sometimes irregular and gusty in the urban setting. Water can remain cold in spring. Respect designated kite zones.
