Blind Pass is a technical kitesurfing spot located between Sanibel Island and Captiva Island, on the west coast facing the Gulf of Mexico. This pass between the two islands creates strong currents and dynamic conditions reserved for advanced riders. In west or northwest winds, waves form at the pass entrance. The setting is beautiful with the barrier islands and tropical vegetation. Blind Pass is also known for its excellent fishing conditions and seashells.

The water body combines the Gulf of Mexico and the pass between the islands. In westerly winds, waves of 1.5-5 feet form. Tidal currents in the pass are powerful and change direction. The bottom is sandy with rocky areas. The water is warm and generally clear on the gulf side.
Extremely strong currents in the pass — can sweep a rider away very quickly. Rocky area in the pass — dangerous in case of falls. In easterly winds, conditions are offshore toward the gulf — do not ride. Spot reserved for very experienced riders only. Check post-Hurricane Ian conditions.
