Golden West / HB Dog Beach is a kitesurfing spot located in Huntington Beach, Orange County, California. Known as "Surf City USA", this long sandy beach offers ideal conditions with regular southwest to northwest afternoon thermal winds and moderate-sized waves. The Dog Beach section south of Golden West Street is one of the most popular kitesurfing areas in Orange County, with a wide beach for rigging.

Ocean beach spot with average waves of 0.5 to 1.5m. Moderate shore break. Water is temperate (14-21°C/57-70°F), a 3/2 wetsuit is recommended. Sandy bottom with sandbars. Wide riding area offshore with enough room to avoid other users. Conditions are generally more forgiving than spots further north in LA.
Shared area with surfers, swimmers, and dogs — be vigilant to avoid collisions. Shore break can make entries and exits challenging on swell days. Drift currents along the beach. Strict municipal regulations on kite zones — respect marked boundaries. Huntington Beach Pier to the north — maintain a safe distance.
