End of the Road is a kitesurf spot located at the northern end of South Padre Island, where the paved road ends and only 4WD access continues toward Padre Island National Seashore. This spot marks the transition between the developed area of SPI and the 60+ miles of wild beach stretching north. On the Laguna Madre side, the shallow flats offer excellent flat water conditions. It's a less crowded spot, appreciated by locals seeking tranquility.
Laguna Madre flats on the bay side, ultra-shallow water with hard sand bottom. Flat water. Hypersaline and warm water. Gulf side access is also possible with oceanic conditions (waves). The spot offers the choice between flat water and waves depending on preference.

Open all year round
Isolated area — little rescue nearby. Stingrays. Intense sun and extreme heat. Make sure to have enough water and fuel. Sand can trap non-4WD vehicles. Jellyfish on the Gulf side. Sharks possible in Gulf waters.
