Overview

Lake Park is a kitesurf spot on Lake Lewisville, one of the largest lakes in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The park offers lake access with parking, picnic areas, and a boat ramp. Lake Lewisville is very popular for water sports, meaning heavy boat traffic on weekends. The body of water is vast with good fetch in all directions. It's one of the most accessible spots for the north Dallas kite community.

Fresh water of Lake Lewisville, variable depth. Muddy bottom. Flat to choppy water depending on wind. No tide. Warm water in summer. The lake is very large, offering significant fetch that can create notable chop in strong wind.

Hazards

Very heavy boat traffic on weekends and in summer (water skiing, jet skis, fishing boats). Violent thunderstorms and tornadoes possible. Lake level fluctuates significantly. Submerged obstacles at low levels. Power lines possible on the shore.
