Waconia DNR is a kitesurf spot on Lake Waconia west of Minneapolis. This large inland lake offers excellent fetch and varied conditions. Access via the DNR site with ramp and parking. Lake Waconia is one of the most popular kite spots in the Twin Cities area. Season from May to October.
Freshwater with small chop in sustained winds thanks to good fetch. Moderate to deep water. Sandy bottom. Water warms in summer.
