L'Aboiteau is a kitesurfing spot located on the southeast coast of New Brunswick, near Cap-Pelé, in the Northumberland Strait. The name refers to the aboiteaux, traditional Acadian dykes that protect the land from tides. The spot benefits from the warm waters of the Northumberland Strait, among the warmest north of Virginia. The prevailing southwest and west winds are regular in summer. The sandy bottom and shallow areas create a safe environment for sailing. Tides moderately affect the body of water. The kitesurfing season runs from June to September. This spot is suitable for beginner to intermediate riders. L'Aboiteau Beach is a popular summer destination with services and amenities nearby.
