Cocagne Cape is a spot on the Northumberland Strait in New Brunswick, in the heart of Acadia. The Northumberland Strait, between New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, offers the warmest waters in Atlantic Canada (up to 22°C in summer!). Cocagne Cape is one of the most renowned kitesurfing spots in the Maritimes, with fine sandy beaches, warm waters and consistent winds. Warm Acadian community with seafood restaurants and accommodations.

Northumberland Strait — among the warmest waters in Atlantic Canada (20-22°C in July-August). Moderate chop without major ocean swell. Progressive sandy bottom. Moderate semi-diurnal tides. Fetch 20-40 km towards PEI. Ideal conditions for all levels. Possible to ride in boardshorts in midsummer!
Moderate tidal currents in the strait. Shifting sandbars. Recreational and fishing boat traffic in summer. Jellyfish possible in late summer. Although water is warm, wetsuit recommended early and late season. Thunderstorms possible.
