Fogland is one of the most popular kitesurf spots in Rhode Island, located in Tiverton on the Sakonnet River. This bay body of water is renowned for its reliable wind conditions, particularly the southwest thermals in summer. Fogland Beach offers easy launching and conditions suitable for all levels.

Sakonnet River body of water with flat to moderate chop conditions. The beach faces west, receiving the southwest thermal winds well. Shallow water near the shore. Moderate tidal currents in the river. Good spot for freestyle and progression.
Tidal currents in the Sakonnet River. Recreational boat traffic in summer. Very crowded spot – watch out for other kitesurfers. Possible rocks on the sides of the beach. Cold water requiring a wetsuit.
