Overview

North Oliphant is the northern part of the famous Oliphant beach on Lake Huron's east shore. Like Oliphant, the spot is renowned for extremely shallow water — standing depth for hundreds of meters. One of Ontario's best flat water spots.

Northern extension of Oliphant with the same exceptional conditions. Turquoise shallow water, fine sand bottom. Perfect for beginners and flat water foiling.

Extremely shallow flat water — standing depth for 300-500 m. Turquoise freshwater resembling the Caribbean. Fine sand bottom. Almost no chop. Ideal conditions for beginners and wingfoil.

Hazards

Very shallow water — watch for drift in offshore winds. Sand bottom may hide isolated rocks. Possible algae in late summer. Safe riding but stay alert for children and swimmers.
