Flat to slightly choppy surface without significant waves. Moderate tidal currents. Southwesterly thermal winds at 10-18 knots in summer. Ideal conditions for beginners and learning kitesurfing.
Tidal currents in Puget Sound: be careful not to drift. Cold water year-round risking hypothermia. Mudflats and sandbars at low tide that can trap riders. Recreational and fishing boat traffic. Possible sharp shells on the bottom at low tide. Respect protected wildlife areas (seabirds). Check tide schedules before each session.
