Matlock Beach is a spot on the west shore of Lake Winnipeg, south of Winnipeg Beach. It's one of the closest access points from the city of Winnipeg (about 45 min).
The east-facing west shore benefits from the lake's considerable fetch (60+ km). Matlock Beach offers a sandy beach for launching. East to southeast winds are onshore. Accessible spot, less crowded than Gimli. Season from June to October.
Fresh water. Temperature of 18-22°C. Sandy bottom. Significant east fetch. Formed chop in sustained winds. Shallow south basin.
